Examples of where claims may arise include

Shops must maintain their premises in such a way as not to put the public in harms way. This will extend to supermarkets being required to keep their isles clear and clean up any spillages that might occur that could cause a customer to slip on the wet floor.

A local authority owes the general public a duty to regularly inspect and maintain their roads and pavements so if you are injured as a result of a faulty pavement again you may have a claim.

If possible take photographs of the accident scene before the local authority repair the scene and obtain full details of all witnesses to the accident. These witnesses may be able to corroborate your version of events and increase the chances of successfully claiming compensation
